Typical coverage figures

The figures quoted below are ‘typical’ coverage figures. Actual coverage will depend on a number of factors including the thickness of application, the type of surface that the product is applied to, and the mode of application (for example, dipping versus spraying or painting).

For a number of products, it is not applicable (N/A) to quote a coverage figure. Products falling into this category include the particle/powdered products, water additives, carrier oils and the emulsifiers/removers.

(1) With our magnetic particle inspection (MPI) products, it is more difficult to quote a coverage rate due to their method of usage: application is more localised around specific areas, as opposed to a more generic coverage when using a penetrant. That said, the rate of coverage will be comparable with that of our penetrants. Please use the above table to obtain the comparable figure based on the container type being used.

(2) With our cleaning products, again, it is more difficult to quote a coverage rate on account of:

  • Their method of usage, e.g. the product is often sprayed onto a cloth prior to application to a component.
  • Their solvent make-up means there will be local evaporation.
